I have not been able to reproduce the segfault about the fontbuilder thread. 
So, I'll continue to have a look on a long time.

Now, I have launched vlc in valgrind and tried to play a simple mp3 file. I 
think there are some interesting results. vlc quits with a segfault due to 
double free or memory corruption.
