[vlc-devel] How to reduce the UDP stream delay?

Hi,
 
I passed --sout-udp-caching 100 and --udp-caching 100 as arguments for the libvlc_new function.
The delay seems not changed, still about 3 seconds. <version 0.8.6c>.
I also passed this two options in commandline, it didn't work neither.
 
Any suggestion to reduce the delay?
