This is consistent with pretty obvious privacy requirements, and also with 
whatever the other XDR softwate that has created the ~/.local/share/Trash 
directory on my system does.

However, since this is NOT retro-active, you should really remove the .cache 
and .local/share/vlc or fix their permissions manually if you have been using 
the development tree.
