You're going to have to live with it. If nobody provides meaingful debug on
this one, it WILL NOT BE FIXED. Well, we could trade the thread exit deadlock
with a exit crash plus a libvlc memory leak.

That one is pretty much always broken. It does not matter whether a feature is
needed if nobody is capable of maintaining it.
We will have had a freeze for NINE weeks by mid august. GSoC will complete,
and the month of people being swamped at VIA/ECP will follow. Unless you want
to release late september, I cannot agree to delaying the release past
mid-august.
