I didn't decide or pushed for this decision, but the advantages for me
are the ability to have a complete log while offline, and to "push to
the server" several commits in one command.

There is a feature that I don't use, which is the creation of branches
that appears to be easier with Git than SVN.

Maybe I'll notice more when working with it ;)
