Not as long as the Qt4 vout window yields the Qt4 interface past returning 
from Open(), which is what causes the deadlock.

Reordering the vout <- interface dependency to vout -> interface is not really 
an option as it would most probably break all the video-related UI controls, 
especially not this late in the 0.9.0 process, and after Pierre has gone to 
great pain in removing all the broken vout -> interface usages. Or then, 
you're going to have to arrange this with Pierre.

Having VLC deadlock (as it currently does with the embedded video) or crash is 
not really an option either.
