you mean hardly usable as sources as dificult to compile, etc?, or 
hardly usable at current state?, there is any official/unoficial release 
of the wrapper somewhere?

Sorry, I fell like a dumm ass, but where exaclty?, I try to get all vlc 
sources with svn checkout svn://svn.videolan.org/vlc/trunk vlc-trunk
 but ask me for a root or user passwd, other sources on vlc svn are for 
mpeg2 libs and things like that...
Also trying to browse source from web is not currently working...
