I don't think so.

If I understand correctly, the vout module tells the vout thread the
output chroma that is needed, the output size and where to write the
rendered picture to be displayed (the framebuffer here) and then the
vout thread does every thing. I could tell the vout thread to write in
another place but it would use more memory and more cpu.
