I'm referring to he version that's downloadable - in binary form - 
from <http://www.videolan.org/vlc.  Currently, that's version 0.9.6. 
With this version, at least, the seek and fast-forward GUI has no 
effect on a RTSP/RTP stream that supports these operations.

However, it's good to hear that Glen and others have been working on 
adding this.  If you haven't already done so, I recommend testing 
this against a "live555 Media Server"

Stream file that has been indexed for 'triick play' support - see 
<http://www.live555.com/liveMedia/transport-stream-trick-play.html>
