This is UGLY, breaks the symmetry, and it is REALLY BAD to run pf_open and 
pf_close in separate threads.

Quicktime decoding does not work. As far as I can tell, it never has. I have 
never seen it even _link_ at build-time.

DMO has no legal use. Either you're violating the GPL license or the terms of 
the software the DLL comes from or both.
