Pardon my ignorance, but this bug I filed is pretty awful (for me) but maybe
no one else cares or maybe it's included in one of the above?

Basically, it makes it so transcoding some mms streams (maybe other inputs?)
to an mp3 file on windows, or mac results in sped up audio.  It's a
regression since 0.8.6.
