hi ,
I finally managed to display a subtitle with arabic glyphs in vlc . I
managed to do that by unchecking the 'Formatted Subtitles' check-box in
Input/Codecs/Other codecs/Subtitles .

One problem remaining though . the line is displayed from Right-To-Left
but the characters in every word are displayed separately . Arabic
words are not written that way .
Screenshots  to explain :

(Totem-Gstreamer) {properly displayed subtitle}

I think Vlc can't fix this problem with the current implementations .
Any ideas or suggestions ?

System : Debian Sid with VLC nightlies .
