[vlc-devel] Question related to fullscreen on Linux

With my config (Ubuntu7.10/Gnome2.20), when switching vlc to fullscreen
mode, black borders surrounding the video are often not displayed right
away (these borders can remain partially transparent showing the
desktop). I could not find anything in trac that describes this problem.

Is it something specific to my rather old config or a more general
problem met with any Linux/windows manager ?
