[vlc-devel] question on duplicates

Folks, 

I have a stream of MPEG-1 coming in  that looks as shown below.

 

a)  Is this a common format ?

 

b)  If this stream contains duplicates, (i.e. more than one packet with
identical payload),

      will the VLC player be able discard the duplicates ?  If yes, what
information would it use ?
