[vlc-devel] VLC 1.0.0 release plan...

Hey there,

I've noticed yesterday, that RTSP seeking is broken in both 0.9-bugfix and
1.0-bugfix. The streams I tested were most likely sent by QTSS/DSS, as it
was the WWDC keynote (see [1], [2]). By broken, I mean that although the
playback jumps to the correct position in time, playback will only continue
for like 2 sec and then stop at all. This works flawlessly with VLC 0.8.6i
*coughcough*.
I would have added this to trac, but...

I don't think this is a show-stopper for the 1.0 release, but I wanted to
let you know.

BTW. I've got a 64bit-Intel version of VLC running on the Mac. It includes
all major features, except for SDL support and Goom visualizations. It works
absolutely nice on future versions of OS X and also supports 10.5 Leopard.
However, the latter's 64bit runtime will trigger a couple of crashes (mostly
on Quit and when using the File-Open-Panel). If you guys agree, we could
ship this separately as an "EXPERIMENTAL" version. Or we keep this "feature"
for a later release.
For now, I didn't look at all at a PPC64 build and it's not exactly on my
top-priority list. Still, it will probably only need little adaptations to
support this platform.

Best regards,

Felix
