I tested it on Windows. Some path problems (URI-related) on Windows
still exist.

As you pointed out, URI/path handling may not be consistent throughout
vlc, and Windows OS makes things still more complicated. Solving one
place breaks other places.

As of today, on Windows, media library is in a broken state (opening
ml.xspf at start of vlc fails) and xspf file demux performs less nicely
(leads to displaying full filename+path in URI format instead of just
the filename)

Jb, maybe a blocker for vlc1.0 release ?
