I'm using this patch for long time, since the distro i'm building vlc
for uses selinux by default.

Having a plugin using text relocation will lead to selinux denial. The
side effect is vlc will detect that the said plugin cannot load, and
will blacklist it for an undefined time. Even if at a later time
selinux is set in permissive mode, the vlc cache plugin will let the
module blacklisted until the cache is regenerated...

Now about the vlc trac report, the remaining question seems to be
about which version of Xcode is used for building on mac .
