[vlc-devel] two long-standing bugs in vlc..

Hi,

There appear to be two long-standing bugs in vlc on windows.

- the http interface doesn't handle ampersand characters.. more specifically
/requests/playlist.xml fails to generate valid xml output when playlist
contains ampersand characters - this issue affects both uri and name fields.
For some reason, the function convert_xml_special_chars() is not working or
not called correctly (Changeset 89cbc196a3ce2bb0e54f16575a48d94703c1cc6e).
Test playlist file is attached.

- the command-line parameter: no-playlist-autostart does not work. No matter
what, if a playlist is specified on command-line, playback is started.


environment:
  windows xp & w2k3.
  vlc versions tested: 0.8.6c, 0.9.6, 0.9.8a.. all from pre-compiled
download.
  command-line passed to vlc on start: vlc.exe --extraintf http --http-host
0.0.0.0:8000 --no-playlist-autostart --random "VLC MP3 Playlist Test
Ampersand.m3u"


I thought submitting bug reports directly to trac.videolan.org/vlc/ would be
the correct method, but after registering and validating my email.. there's
no option to submit a new ticket.. and per the directions, i tried the irc
web interface (http://krishna.videolan.org/cgi-bin/irc/irc.cgi), but it's
down. 

So, hopefully email will suffice.
