I would send another patch to disable the feature on WinCE. Or Geoffroy
would. Or if it's a major feature that cannot be disabled, VideoLAN
can also drop the support of WinCE. And I can keep my patches to my
employer's private repository, too. However, I think that the official
VLC can still run very well on a platform with no environment or working
directories.

As for crapping up the code with ifdefs, as I said:

You did not reply, so I assume that there is no more problem with that
