Yes. But the aim was to have a separate source tarball for python-vlc
since intree compilation is getting more and more difficult.
libvlc-dev (or vlc-devel) will become an explicit BuildDependency of
python-vlc instead of trying to compile it at the same time as vlc.

It could be the same for probably most vlc modules, But then, there
are other scale problem...(1)
At least, it could be usefull for the java binding which have the same
technical problem with intree compilation; and maybe the mozilla
plugin. (when there is a need to support different xulrunner from
incompatible ABI ?).

(1) - As a Fedora packager, I would be interested in sorting out which
modules are involved in any patent poll.
Nevertheless that problem far away from that python particular case.
