Perhaps, but as far as I know, "add_submodule()" is mostly a marker. I  
don't believe there are functional changes with this, so i considered  
this mostly cosmetic and decided to put it on master and not backport  
it just yet. If someone is of a different opinion then I won't object  
of course.
