How a feature removal can help in this?

Again, it *is* perfectly possible to type full URL into the Address field
of Open Network tab in VLC-1.0.3, I'm doing that on daily basis. Perhaps
it just isn't properly documented...

Yes, and how is that going to help a user, which occasionaly wants to receive
some RTP stream not being in the playlist?

We're using SAP for years. Still, there are extra, one-time, testing and other
types of broadcasts for which direct open is handy.

Seems other players and STBs are now doing just the opposite, maybe it's time to
sync.
