[vlc-devel] Changing vlm variable on the fly

I'm using vlm with a custom module, and want to change a variable on the fly
(telnet interface). I tried issuing a "setup ch1 option" while playing, and
constantly reading from var_GetInteger in the demux function. However, the
variable only kicks in after doing a control ch1 stop/play. Is there a way I
could modify the telnet interface to have the variable kick in on the fly?
