[vlc-devel] video filters and frame display

Hi,

I am playing with video filters, and I noticed that the filter function is
called each time a picture is displayed.
I tested with a one frame per second video, and the filter function was called 5
times per seconds.
When I pause the video, the Filter function keep being called 5 times per
seconds.

That would mean pictures are rendered even when no new frames are decoded ?

Is there a way to display pictures only when frames are decoded ? and as a
consequence it would apply filters only once per frame ?
