Well, I believe this is still quite a mess to merge and check.
You can find attached a corrected version that applies to master.

Can you try it?

Btw, why the removal of 
    if( strncmp(p_demux->psz_access, "dc1394", 6) != 0 )
            return VLC_EGENERIC;
             ?
