Sure. I guess nobody really cares about contrib on Linux-i386, thanks to 
proper distros. This was enabled for x264 and every libtool-based packages...

I'm fine with a special case for i386. But I'd rather have a slow but 
functional contrib by default, than a fast i386-specific one. And I am not 
going to write that patch, as I am not using contrib on i386.
