[vlc-devel] VLC-1.0.x crashes on pressing stop

Hi all,

during testing of 1.0.2-rc we uncovered a crash on stopping playback.
It's hard to trigger this on Core2 Duo WinXP machine - but on older, slower
machines the chance for crash is quite high (1 in 3 attempts or so).

The crashdump file is created, but it's zero size. On another machine
it seems to point to libmpeg2 (?) - attached below. It's also reproducible
on 1.0.1-release, hence it's not related to any of the recent changes.

Does anyone have an idea what can be the problem and/or how to debug this
further? Yet another hint is, that the crash happens more often, when
input caching is higher, i.e. with udp-caching=300 it's very rare, but with
udp-caching=1000 it's one in three times. RTP caching is 1000 by default,
so we noticed there first, but after playing with caching values elsewhere
the situation looks the same.

I hope we can resolve this before 1.0.2-release.

       Thanks & kind regards,

           M.
