well, obviously fixed by you now although this only affects "make src". On my setup using "make bin", the Sparkle folder is correctly created in hosts/blabbla or extras/contrib/ depending on the branch you use.

I cannot reproduce this here (on a different setup than jones where the package was created). Seems like there is something wrong with the package extraction at your site. The Makefile should take care of switching all paths accordingly to the location of your checkout.

I'm not really sure yet what causes the libass problem. libfontconfig, libxml and libfreetype were linked with absolute paths to the libass-module instead of relative @loader_path paths. Simply replacing the references with install_name_tool fixed the runtime issue. The underlying issue is still to be solved. 

After some tests, a 1.0.5a? Binaries are available on altair.
