[vlc-devel] MAC OSX and Win DirectX Plugins ESC KEY not working

I am (almost) sure that it worked on previous versions. What is the difference?

That's completely different. Key presses do not work properly except for the 
playlist input, due to design limitations of the "hotkeys" interface plugin, 
and affects browser plugins and LibVLC applications on all platforms.

As regards the embedded video, there are no fundamental problems. The video 
displays should not even try to handle key presses. The window provider (the 
interface) should do it at all time. Only then can the interface record their 
own shortcuts such as Qt4 menus. That's what the new XCB plugins do already.
