The question was more about dvb/bda modules in VLC:

dvb:
#define FREQ_LONGTEXT N_("In kHz for DVB-S or Hz for DVB-C/T")

bda:
#if defined(WIN32) || defined(WINCE)
#    define FREQ_LONGTEXT N_("In kHz for DVB-S or Hz for DVB-C/T")

cqam is more like dvb-c, right?
