--video-x, --video-y don't do anything (embed video to interface doesn't matter). Video always starts from 0,0 without embed and with embed place is last closing position. I tested with vlc-1.1.0-git-20100302-0002 under Win32.

Also Tools -> Preferences (Show Settings: All) and Video section has X11 display option which I am guessing shouldn't be in Win32 releases.
