[vlc-devel] Idea for GSoC 2010

Hi,

Correct me if i am wrong here. The MPEG standards that are followed and the
metadata that is being filled is done by the author.
So when we download the song, the metadata is already filled.(right?)

If yes, then this is the whole point of my project. Whenever we download
songs, it usually has incomplete information. This plugin will automatically
fill in all the relevant metadata of the song by finding as many properties
of the songs as possible. Moreover, it would enable the user to personalize
his player playlists based on his hearing habits and mood swings that he
might be experiencing.

If somebody does not know yet, there is a standard for this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-7

Best regards,
