 I tough that patch is not implemented and I'm still not able get soverlay
working.

I Tried this syntax:
"C:\vlc-1.2.0-git-20100508-0002\vlc" -I dummy tintti.rec --sub-language fi
--sout-all
--sout="#transcode{soverlay,vocodec=mp4v,acodec=mp4a,vb=2000,ab=128}:std{access=file,mux=mp4,dst=tintti.mp4}"
vlc://quit

Could you give your example syntax for transcode?
