Oh, possibly.
But I prefer adding the work-around each OS after another, than doing it
wrongly.

No, VLC has no bugs. :D

Maybe a configure.ac check could help detecting if the right
functionnality is supported and not rely on an _STDC_ define that most
implementation forget to define correctly.
