In fact there's no encoding issue in VLC, the error came from the
Pluzz website itself:
<meta name="vignette-titre-court" content="Chéri(e), fais
les valises du 18/04/2011" >

Obviously it should be é instead of é :-)

But while I was searching I've found an argument validation error
inside the lua helpers, the attached patch solves it.
