   Hello,

The aout-rate variable forces output at a certain sample rate, subject to
acceptance by the output plug-in. I don't really see the point. But most
importantly, I expect this options breaks the output chain if there is no
resampler, i.e. if S/PDIF is in use.

This option is disabled by default since 2003. Before that (audio
output2), it defaulted to 44100 Hz. Unless someone proposes a viable
alternative, I am going to remove it.
