N900 has 800x480 pixels, and is Qt4-compatible. Yet the VLC Qt4 interface
is essentially unusable:
1/ It is really not meant for touch input, especially menus.
2/ It does not really fit in 800x480 pixels anyway.
3/ Its widgets are too small for screens with so many dots per inches.

In other words, another user interface is still required. That's why the
N900 port uses the Maemo/GTK UI.
