Good day,
I wrote in this topic about the damage (partial data loss) of a very
valuable video file:
viewtopic.php?f=4 <http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=85853>
&t=85853
But there is no answer for about 2 weeks, so it seems no one can help me.
But maybe the people who really can help just don't read this branch. So I
tried to use the mail list.
And I know, MP4 format may quite vary in different devices (such as mobile
phones and cameras) and applications. Some devices write headers in the end
of the file, some in the beginning.
I suppose someone on this forum surely should know the format of MP4 that
uses VLC during video file creation. And what each field stands for, for
example, "mvhd", "stts", "stsc", "stsz", etc.
This can greatly help me to decide if I should try to go on with the
restore, or forget about it (for example, if there is no sound).
Best wishes, Alex, Russia
