This definitely classifies as a missing feature, on both input and output
sides. And I am not aware of anyone working on it.

There is however a big risk that the final RFC is not interoperable with
the initially individual-submitted Internet draft, which your link points
to. Indeed from a quick diff, it seems versions 01 and 02 are not
compatible with version 00...
