OTOH it seems freedesktop standards do not exist anymore, at least
that's what freedesktop.org seems to tell.

And I couldn't find the PowerManagement interface on
standards.freedesktop.org

But still they could have kept the interface...

I'll split my patch before commit (I have also put a bugfix in it)
