If I remember correctly this is the situation regarding inhibition

There is the standard pointed in this thread, which is right now only 
followed by KDE-Workspace as far as I know, and this is becasue 
according to both site developers the standard is not well designed and 
"not functional".

Because of that, Dario Freddi from KDE (Solid) will proposse a new 
standard at Berlin Desktop Summit.

So, same old history: We're changing again something that should be 
"Standard". Is happy how much work we do to make our libs ABI compatible 
and then stuff like this change every 6 months...
