No.

bin|cue are for VCD and SVCD, that aren't supported by dvdnav.

To open DVD with VLC we have:
 - Classic /dev/cdrom /D:
 - VIDEO_TS/ folders (dvd:// must be forced, now, I think, while this is
     suboptimal)
 - open .iso files (we don't support iso for VCD or BD)
 - open .ifo files, inside VIDEO_TS folders

To open CDDA with VLC, we just have:
 - cdda:///dev/cdrom
 - cddax:///dev/cdrom

To open BD, well, this is another story :D
