Hello,
I have done some more debugging, and fixed the problems I mentioned.

The following patch fixes the crash when changing the stream format back to the original one. As well the current stream format instead of the first one is saved before the switch to the optical one now.

Optical Audio seems to work flawlessly on my machine with lion now. We should also test if it works as well on older mac os versions. But I am not able to do that because I have no access to an installed leopard or snow leopard anymore. Therefore I hope some one of you can test that.
