Yeah, xcrun is available on 10.6. I did not check on 10.5 to be honest.

Indeed. I'll push a modified patch with "gcc" instead of "clang" which will work in any case.

Not yet. Frankly, I need to write patches for gcrypt, gnutls, postproc and zvbi.

Switching to clang in /contrib isn't of high priority though, so there is no need to hurry.
