[vlc-devel] Could someone give me a basic overview of the source code hierarchy and VLC dependencies?

Guys,

     I'm particularly interested in the video codecs and what it would
take to add support for another. I don't know if I'm brave enough to
tackle it, but what code do I start reading to see how others codecs
are implemented? I'm not asking for hand-holding, just someone to
point me in the right direction.
