After making VLC the default player for .mp3 here are some more tests:

I have a folder with 17 mp3:

Right click one item -> open -> the item plays
Select items 1 & 2 -> right click on 1 -> open
Item 1 is added to playlist, then the entire folder is added to playlist


Drap & dropping the 17 items to VLC add them all to the playlist.
Was that behaviour not possible before your patch?
