No, unfortunately not, at least not on my machine. This patch only makes sure that you see some change at all, when you are in fullscreen. But the behavior is the same as described in trac.

Btw, I just saw that while I resize the window by hand, the screen flickers between the correct picture and the distorted one. But when I finished the resize, the picture will be the wrong one again.
