The armlinux crap is about using an hard-coded ARM toolchain. In general, the
linux is the right thing to do.
You may be assuming an equivalence between ARM and cross-compilation (as far
as Linux is concerned). This is wrong. ARM is _not_ cross-compiled on RPM and
Debian-style platforms (e.g. N9). And there are no reasons why only ARM would
be cross-compiled either.
That ?*linux live555 targets are just crap.
