It would be disingenuous to publish VideoLAN keys before VLC meets the last.fm 
requirements set in their Terms of service. I don't think it does meet all of 
them.

Then it is not clear to me that the API keys can be published at all. At 
least, it seems not sublicensable. That would contradict the GPL. Then VLC 
distributions cannot include a (real) key at all. In other words, you have to 
compile the audioscrobbler module yourself and keep it for your own use with 
your own key. And yes it would suck.
