Thanks for the tip. After reviewing the fullscreen implementation it gave
me an idea for a way forward.

I have a new patch. It is not exactly the same as fullscreen, but it uses
one key aspect of it.

Do you want the previously committed patch to be reverted first, or should
I send a new patch based on what has already been committed?
